Triffids Are Back!

The exotic shapes and colours of glass artist Lucas Salton’s Triffid sculptures have been gallery favourites for years. Regrettably Lucas decided to retire from glass blowing and Jive has not had any new Triffids for some time. Imagine our delight when Lucas told us that a few previously on exhibition at a luxury hotel were available. We took the lot!

Let us know quickly if you would like to reserve a set of Triffids (they are only sold in sets of three) because they will sell quickly.

Rick Cook – Inspirational Glass Artist

Rick is a talented and upcoming glass artist who lives and works in his own studio in Margaret River Western Australia. It takes years to master the art of glass blowing and Rick finished his apprenticeship in 2008 after working with master glass blowers in UK Netherlands and Australia. His style is contemporary and fluid, heavily influenced by the ocean and the fish who live in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

He says: “Glass making feeds my soul, keeping me sane. I never tire of the excitement that overcomes me when opening the kiln for the first time after a days glassblowing. Inspiration is all around me, whether a morning sunrise, the bark on a tree or striations in a rock. If nature cannot inspire you then maybe it is time to check your pulse!”
